Partners (Scherrie & Susaye album)

Partners is a 1979 album recorded by Scherrie & Susaye for Motown Records. Following the demise of The Supremes in 1977, former group members Scherrie Payne and Susaye Greene recorded this album together on the Motown label. Both singers share songwriting duties as well as receiving associate producer credit for the album. Legendary performer Ray Charles makes a guest appearance on the album on the song "Love Bug". Joyce Vincent Wilson, a candidate to replace original Supreme Mary Wilson when Payne and Greene were considering continuing with the Supremes name, is heavily featured on background vocals.

The song "Leaving Me Was the Best Thing You've Ever Done" was released as the album's only single.

The album was only released in the US.

The album was finally released on compact disc in 2014.

Partners (2014 TV series)

Partners is an American sitcom starring Kelsey Grammer and Martin Lawrence on FX. The show is set as Chicago lawyers from vastly different backgrounds who develop a partnership after they unexpectedly meet in court on the worst day of their lives.

FX ordered 10 episodes of the sitcom and, if the series had done well over its first 10-episode run, the network would have ordered an additional 90 episodes. The sitcom premiered on August 4, 2014.

Partners is an album by pianist Paul Bley and bassist Gary Peacock recorded in New York in 1989 and released on the French Owl label in 1991.

Reception

Allmusic awarded the album 4 stars stating "by the time this duo session was recorded, one could expect that a certain degree of musical empathy would be in play. And yes, here there is plenty of the give and take of two old friends who do not go along with the mainstream jazz program. Yet one could also call this an album of twin monologues, for ten of the 15 tracks here are solo improvisations for each player".

Relationship to energy in physics

Energy in this context is not, strictly speaking, the same as the conventional notion of energy in physics and the other sciences. The two concepts are, however, closely related, and it is possible to convert from one to the other:

For example, if x(t) represents the potential (in volts) of an electrical signal propagating across a transmission line, then Z would represent the characteristic impedance (in ohms) of the transmission line. The units of measure for the signal energy would appear as volt²·seconds, which is not dimensionally correct for energy in the sense of the physical sciences. After dividing by Z, however, the dimensions of E would become volt²·seconds per ohm, which is equivalent to joules, the SI unit for energy as defined in the physical sciences.

Energy is a private Spanish television channel owned by Mediaset España Comunicación. Its programming is aimed towards a male audience. Began test broadcasts on 27 December 2011 before fully launching on 9 January 2012.

Programming

Energy airs syndicated television series, both international and local, most of them reruns of series previously aired on sister channels Telecinco and Cuatro. It also includes sports broadcasts, news documentaries, movies and international foreign fiction series.

Devoted largely to broadcast sporting events and the Grand Prix motorcycle racing, the UEFA European Football Championship, Copa del Rey, the UEFA Europa League and the UEFS Futsal Men's Championship; the NBA basketball and, also, the successful Ultimate Fighting Championship.

"Energy" is the debut single by American recording artist Keri Hilson. The song was written and produced by The Runaways, consisting of Louis Biancaniello, Sam Watters, Rico Love, and Wayne Wilkins, for her studio album In a Perfect World… (2009).

The track was released as the first single from the singer's debut in the United States on May 27, 2008. Although being released worldwide it initially only charted in New Zealand at number two and only managed to reach top thirty on the U.S. Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Hot Dance Club Play charts.

Generally well received by music critics, it was named sixty-first on The Top 144 Songs of 2008 listing by Blender magazine.

Background

"Energy" was written and produced by The Runaways. It was also recorded by The Runaways at Homesite 13 studios in Novato, California. and Hilson stated that she wanted to prove that she can be successful even without collaborations and guest vocalists and so it was announced "Energy" would be released as the next worldwide single following the success of "Knock You Down". The song was released on September 14, 2009 in the UK. On September 25, 2009 she appeared live on breakfast TV show GMTV in the UK where she performed the single. That same day, she appeared on BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge where she performed a stripped version of "Energy" as well as a gospel cover version of "Supernova" originally sung by Mr Hudson and Kanye West.
